How do I go about making a claim?

Making a claim couldn't be easier. Simply call BClaims on the free-phone number at the top of the screen or complete our brief online application form, and your own dedicated case coordinator will contact you to discuss your claim.

How involved do I need to be in the claims process and what do I need to do?

If you instruct BClaims to pursue your personal injury claim then we will require you to provide us with clear instructions when needed. We will keep you fully advised as to the progress of your claim. You can relax in the knowledge that your dedicated claim handler will attend to all aspects of your claim.

How long do I have to make a claim following an accident?

Following an accident, you have three years from the date of its occurrence to pursue a claim for personal injury against the responsible third party. However, if you were under 16 years of age at the time of the accident, you have three years from the date of your 16th birthday within which to raise a court action. If you have developed an illness then the three-year period would run from the date that you became aware that the illness was connected to an incident or exposure.

How long will my claim take to settle?

However, there may be occasions where a quick settlement is not possible - for instance, where the full extent of your injuries is not yet apparent or where there are complicated financial losses which take certain periods of time to establish.
